Blended Learning

We initially developed a Blended Learning Policy as a reaction to the National Lockdown as a consequence of COVID 19. During lockdown, all staff remained working in school and teachers taught the children of Key Workers (and those children who were identified as vulnerable) in their own classroom in a small group. The children learning at home could access the school curriculum lessons taught by their teacher through the use of Microsoft TEAMS. Children were provided with printed copies of all required resources in order to support learning and new school reading books which were collected from school every two weeks.
The school is currently assessing how to continue to use the skills and the opportunities provided through online learning to further extend pupil learning within and outside of traditional school hours and settings. For example, our approach to home learning could be applied to homework provision and the new skills which teachers have developed can be used to offer after school support for children working in small groups (either in the home or the school setting).
