A proud member of

Uniform

It is our policy that all children should wear clothing that is in keeping with a purposeful learning ethos.
We also believe it is important that certain activities (such as PE) are facilitated by specialised and appropriate clothing when attending school. We may also decide that children wear an alternative to school uniform, when participating in a school-organised event outside normal school hours for example.

Below is a list of our school uniform garments.

All clothing MUST be clearly marked with the child’s name.

SCHOOL UNIFORM

SCHOOL UNIFORM

• Black/grey trousers/skirt/pinafore
• Red unisex jumper/cardigan (preferably with school logo)
• White blouse or red or white polo shirt
• Red/white striped or check dress or black/grey shorts (usually worn in summer months)
• Grey, black or white socks
• Grey or black tights

• Black shoes (plain and flat – no trainers please)

COAT

COAT

  • Sensible jackets/coats should be worn.
  • Children will work and exercise outdoors so please ensure the coat is practical.
  • Please avoid leather and denim jackets.
  • Please avoid jackets and coats with expensive logos.
  • Please add your child’s name.

PE KIT

PE KIT

All children in Y1 – Y6 will take part in two PE sessions each week. On these days children are asked to wear their PE kit to school. This provides more time in the day for PE activity and prevents the loss of items of clothing.
Children should wear:
  • Sensible trainers
  • Black or blue shorts and/or tracksuit bottoms over the top
  • Plain white t-shirt – and over the top a plain black/blue sweatshirt
Please avoid sending children to school wearing PE kit with logos and/or football shirts. The PE kit worn to school must be in keeping with the school uniform.

SWIMMING

SWIMMING

  • Children will have a weekly swimming lesson in Year 5.
  • The swimming pool is very strict about the swimming uniform.
  • Please ensure: plain swimming trunks for the boys (NOT shorts) and a one piece swimsuit for the girls.

Restricted Items
• Make up (including coloured lip balm) should not be worn.
• Nail varnish/false nails are strictly not allowed including on non-uniform days.
• Earrings – ONLY STUD EARRINGS can be worn in school, no looped or dangly earrings are allowed. On PE days you must ensure your child’s earrings are removed or covered with tape (for safety).
Property notice
The school cannot be held responsible for any personal property (e.g. watches). Children are permitted to wear a simple watch but this is at the owners own risk. The Governors’ policy is that jewellery should not be worn at school.
If a child has pierced ears, studs may be worn but these should be removed or taped over by the child during PE/Games lessons. If you wish your child to have his/her ears pierced, this should be done at the beginning of the summer holidays. This will ensure that earrings can be removed for school without the risk of infection.
Cloakroom space is limited so no large bags at all please. Your child will need a school book bag to bring their reading book to and from school. These can be purchased from the school uniform supplier when the time comes.
