Term Dates

We follow the standard Wakefield term dates, as well as having 5 inset (staff training) days over the year.

We always aim to inform parents of inset days as soon as possible, so that holidays can be booked in term time and not school time.

At the start of the year, we also send out a full overview of key dates for the entire academic year.

On this page you’ll find a link to a key dates document, we also email and send a paper copy of this home every year. Over the year things may change or be added so keep checking newsletters for updates!

2026-2027 Term Dates – Wrenthorpe Academy

EYFS Open Events- September 2027 new starters

We’re delighted to welcome families who are considering joining Wrenthorpe in September 2027 to our EYFS Open Events.

We will be holding two events, giving you the opportunity to find out more about our school, meet our wonderful team and see our Reception environment.

📅 Wednesday 21 October 2026 – Reception Open Evening

4:45pm – 6:00pm

Our whole school will be open for this event. Families will have the opportunity to visit our Reception setting, take a tour of the wider school and meet members of our fantastic team.

📅 Wednesday 18 November 2026 – Reception Classroom Open Event

4:45pm – 6:00pm

This event will focus specifically on EYFS and our Reception classrooms.

Come along to meet our Reception team, explore the classrooms and see our learning environment in action.
