Where Everyone Is Valued.
Wrenthorpe Academy is an inclusive, supportive and aspirational learning community where children, parents & staff work together in partnership to meet the needs of all of our learners. It is a school with a clear vision: ‘where everyone is valued.’
Our motto ‘We only get one life so let’s learn how to live it well,’ is so much than a set of words. Our children are given the tools and strategies they need to develop their physical, social and mental fitness. Everything our pupils do and learn during their time at Wrenthorpe Academy are based on our core values:
We are happy
We are safe
We enjoy a challenge
We are compassionate
We show respect
We are ready and fit for our future.
Our Aims
Our school aims are underpinned by our values. Through our school values, we aim to:
- Promote high standards of academic and vocational achievement for every child, every time, through a highly-inclusive approach.
- Promote a holistic view of the whole child, supporting them to become well-rounded individuals and members of society.
- Encourage all children to develop positive relationships with, and respect for, themselves, each other, our local community and the wider world.
- Provide a safe, welcoming and positive environment for our children and families; acting as a hub at the heart of our community.
Our Community
Bricks and mortar do not make a school, people do. We can achieve great things when we work together, and our community is at the heart of what we do. We are a hub of support for our families, and provide a safe and loving environment for our children to shine.
Our Academy Trust
Since April 2017 we have been a proud member of Waterton Academy Trust, providing even more opportunities for our pupils to shine. As part of the Waterton family, we ensure that success for all is not a goal, but an expectation.
Rule of Law
Rule of law means that all people and groups are ruled by the same laws which help keep us all safe and happy.
Individual Liberty
Individual freedom is when people have the freedom to choose their faith, beliefs, likes and dislikes which are outside government control.
Mutual Respect
A fair, objective and permissive attitude to those whose faith and beliefs may be different to our own.
