Learning is not just confined to the classroom – we always encourage learning to continue at home!
We expect children to complete different homework each week, and work with parents to support them in helping children at home. If you are every unsure, or would like any support – please let us know!
Reading
We expect all children to read at home each day. Children who are working on Phonics will have their decodable book to read, and a ‘reading for pleasure’ book to be read to them. Children who have finished the phonics programme will bring a book home that is match to their level.
Maths
In maths, we expect children to use Emile every day to practise their spellings, calculation strategies and times table skills.
Other
We also send out optional homework every half term. We also give out spellings on a weekly basis, for spelling tests in class through our Emile app.
Other Projects
Over the year we run a variety of optional homework projects too. We also encourage children to bring in any extra learning they’ve been doing at home!
