On behalf of our entire school community, I’d like to welcome you to our wonderful school. I am incredibly proud to be the Executive Headteacher of Wrenthorpe Academy. Our wonderful staffing team have an unrivalled passion and dedication for our children & community, where our aim is ‘Where Everyone Is Valued.’
Welcome to Wrenthorpe Academy.
We are a friendly, community-focused school, and we pride ourselves on the provision we offer all children through our highly inclusive ethos, engaging curriculum, vibrant learning environment, and creative approach to education.
Our website aims to provide a snapshot of life at Wrenthorpe, as well as offering regularly updated information for parents and the wider community. Many visitors comment on the warm and welcoming ‘feel’ of Wrenthorpe – something that truly has to be experienced in person. Visits are always welcome, and we’d be delighted to introduce you to our incredible children.
As Executive Headteacher, my priority is to ensure that our entire school community remains safe and that all individuals are given the opportunity to thrive. I am committed to leading a forward-thinking and reflective school, and one that is always looking for ways to evolve and improve the experience we offer our children.
I passionately believe that every child has the potential to achieve great things. It is both our professional and moral responsibility to nurture and support each child to reach their potential, and to achieve more than they ever thought possible. Central to this is our commitment to working in partnership with parents, carers, the wider community, and external agencies. Education is a shared journey, and we all have a role to play in supporting our children.
Visitors often remark on the positive, family atmosphere in school, and that’s exactly what we strive to be: a family. The door is always open for feedback, conversations, or support with any aspect of school life.
At Wrenthorpe, success takes many forms. It might be a moment of personal reflection when a child realises they’ve achieved something special: scaling a mountain to raise money for charity; solving a challenging maths problem; communicating with someone for the first time; crossing the finish line at a cross-country race, or learning to take turns during a task. Whatever it looks like, success is always underpinned by our inclusive approach, high standards of behaviour and attendance, and a deep commitment to personal development.
Our school aims are rooted in the belief that we provide the highest standard of education, while fostering a love of learning that lasts a lifetime.
As part of the Waterton Academy Trust, we are proud to be supported by a fantastic organisation that shares our values. Since joining the Trust in April 2017, we have seen a wealth of opportunities for our children, and our staff have benefitted from high-quality professional development and strong networks of collaboration.
We hope you enjoy your visit to our website and that you find everything you’re looking for. Please don’t hesitate to get in touch if you would like more information.
Warm regards
Lauren Penny
